Theres a drum kit I want 216 miles from me.
It's 'new' but ex-display. 12 Months warranty so they say.
It's an ebay auction, but it's looking like ending with out a bid on it.
I was planning to call the shop and ask for an aggressive discount.

    They've quoted £30 delivery.
What's my protection under 'I changed my mind/don't like the
colour/don't like the way it sounds'?

If I payed £30 to get it here and £30 to send it back, I wouldn't be too
sorry to have had a chance to look at it. There's a high probability I
want to keep it unless it's shit/broken.

I'm a private individual, not self employed, so it's not B2B... Where
    can I get stiffed here?

IME you don't even have to pay for the postage either way (I have got
-full- refunds from ebay traders before, including postage). As long as
the place you are buying from is running it as a business, then you are
covered. IIRC you only have to 'make the goods available for
collection'. You've only got 7 days though I think so you have to inform
them sharpish if you want to send it back.

It's 7 days from when the seller makes you aware of your rights. So, if
it's not made clear on an invoice, website, etc then the time can be
    significantly longer.

They're west of here, in Cornwall!

I'm striving for the deal of the century, one of the guys teaching me is
going on the look out for a more ideal opportunity and said there's no
need to rush into a purchase, I think I'm going to hang tight for a bit.
God damn it, I want decent drums though.

You're fucked then, NO-ONE knows anyone in Cornwall :)
I know the feeling (I get GAS far too often which probably accounts for the
6 guitars, 2 piano's and 2 synthesizer modules residing at my place) but
your teacher pal is spot on. There IS always another deal of the century
waiting in the wings, so charging in and taking a punt on the first one
    isn't usually a good idea.

The Cornish ones are blue, I'd really rather black ones with silver
hardware, or white ones with black hardware. It's all so complicated
though. Drum manufacturers are crap with standards. I'm full to the brim
with manufacturing information now, so I can figure out where and when a
    kit was made.
I'm not going to list the gear I've hoarded over the years, but it's
plenty to run a project studio (

I'm going to have a drumkit to offload in the near future if anyone
knows any aspiring drummers who'd like a decent deal.

Where abouts? If it's near a friend I can get him to take a look, but as
it takes 2 hours just to cross the county, it'd need to be close. No
point me going, I wouldn't know a decent drum kit from a collection of
    upturned tins.

When has no knowledge of a subject ever stopped anyone on here from being an
