FOAK Muffs

After a miserable commute on crackly snow a few days ago, I found that the
heated BMW grips are useless when you have to span the clutch and brake
levers in anticipation of imminent disaster. I quite like the idea of
sliding my fingers into muffs on a cold morning ...

So what's good? Or are they all the same?

I use Oxford ones on my K75 / K100s. Do the job well enough but you;'ll
need to piss around to make sure they don't cause the front brake to
drag. Easy enough 'cos they're quite stiff.

  3. Me too on the Dullsville. Nice warm hands with muffs and my summer
gloves. The winter ones are too big to fit comfortably within the
    muffs.

  4. Every set I've tried have always managed to prevent you using the
controls as quickly and easily as you can without them fitted. They just
seem to get in the way.

Enduro-style handguards are nearly as good, IMHO.

What about cheapy motocross handguards? Do they keep the wind off the
fingers or are we looking at 4 pint milk bottles as a solution?

  6. Well, that's what I meant, from the bit you snipped. But four-pint
    bottles will do, yes :)

I really don't have that problem with the Oxford ones.
Tried these in the past and don't agree. But I like to wear summer
gloves so it does need to be pretty draught free really.

I've managed to get the left hand muff on over the plastic guard on my
KLE500 - it's excellent, much better than the guard on it's own. Can't do it
on the right hand unless I were to cut lumps off the plastic guard. I got
the muffs free when I bought heated grips from M&P for £30. (Although I had
to go out and buy a relay as well).

I use Oxford ones, no problems with controls.
I now wear summer gloves all year round
