That record that seems to be being played everywhere at the moment, by U2 &
M J Blije, not bad either. That Mary has a great voice!
Anyway, googled away and can't find the original artist that did it. IMHO
the original was by far, better. MJ would be better off without U2 yodelling
    in the background.
So come on then, who did the original?

    TIA.

Err... U2 wasn't it? The Lighthouse Family also covered it - kinda.

Personally I prefer the MJB/U2 version - so much so that I even bought
the CD single. First time I've ever bought one.

Heathen. The U2 original is far and away superior.

  5. Precisely. While Mary J Blige has a good voice I much prefer the U2
    original.

She's just a fucking moaner. Can't seem to hold a single note longer
    than a semitone.

As many have said the original "One" is by U2. I love the original
but I also really enjoy this new Mary J. Blige & U2 collaboration. It
gives the song a new feel and I even bought it on CD Single - that
doesn't happen very often. First CD Single I've bought in three
    years.

'scuse my ignorance, but is U2 _the_ original? I thought the other one,
which I now believe is the LHF to be the original?

    /confused!?

  16. Take it from me that U2 wrote, sung and published the original. It won
the Nation's Favourite Lyric in a VH1 poll recently. The MJB version is
a cover / duet with U2 humming away in the background.
