FOAK: Pillows

I have some shitty pillows (Ikea's cheapest) and bad shoulder / neck pain.
Would like to go for something better on the basis that it might help, but
these things seem to cost rather a lot of money so I'm appealing to the
    pillow-isti.

Main contenders appear to be Dunlopillo (latex) and Tempur (memory foam).

    Discuss.

I bought a memory foam pillow a year ago and my only regret was not buying
    one much sooner.

Like you I used to suffer from neck & shoulder pain but not any more.

As you say, they're not cheap but they are worth every penny.

I find a combination of claret & ibuprofen works best. DGAF about the
    pillow, then.

Did you go for a brand (if so, which?) or an Ebay no-name special?

Have heard that the cheapos are somehow not as good but of course this could
    be FUD.

seem to be loads on Amazon at varying prices from a fiver to £72. Loads of
reviews to trawl through. Think I'll stick to the claret as the effect is
    reliable.

  6. Perhaps a change of sleeping posture might help. When I got a really bad
neck/left shoulder crick I found if I slept on my front with the pillow
in a line from left side of my head, under my neck and to the right
shoulder, it made all the difference.

Branded, Silentnight IIRC(1). I think it cost about £45.

SWMBO swears by her 'Carpenter Sleep Better' specially shaped pillow.
'Isotonic' foam, with a double bump profile.

Can't find it quickly (browsing via mobile braodband), but ought to be
    in here somewhere:

We replaced all of our hollowfibre filled ones with Dunlopillo latex
ones - Supet Comfort I think and we're about £35 (although that may
    have been in a sale).

They're great. When we stay away overnight now, we take them with us!

Oh, that's a bugger. Nothing like a feather pillow either.
