I'm not suggesting that it's not possible, but it's not really something
that I'm massively bothered making the effort to learn right now. I
can't see any real benefit if a trackball will fix it anyway.

As for driving / riding, I happily drive both LH and RH drive cars, but
am yet to find a bike with a left throttle and right clutch.

Indians had left-hand throttles for police work. Also, if you catch up with
the Wall-of-Death show that goes to Stafford and the like, they use a couple
of Indians, and they have the CB200s they also use converted to left-hand so
they can get off one and onto the other without having two sets of reflexes.

  4. Works for me. I've also found that moving away from using a desktop
(some years ago) to a laptop and using the "button" on the Dell and my
left hand to operate the left/right buttons has helped enormously. Any
RSI pains I get now I can get rid of with a couple of hours rest.

I've been a trackball user for ~ 10 years. I use one of these http://
    www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/trackballs/devices/189&cl=US,EN

It is quite simply the dogs danglies. its comfortable, configurable, does
what it says on the tin.

Most people who sit at my desk when I'm on hols usually love it and a
    good few have switched themselves.

Ta. Wireless version en route. No one appears to have a wired one for
    delivery tomorrow.

Couldn't even find one in a shop :(

Heh.. limp wristed brigade. :) Hope you're making allowance for people
with genuine problems. Some folk just seem to be more robust, better put
together. Besides, spend hours and hours moving just one bit of your
body and it's bound to cause problems. The human body isn't designed to
sit down all day, doing proper work is much healthier and easier in some
    ways.

Learning to use a mouse with the other hand is easy peasy. I found
learning to wipe my arse with the other hand harder. At least you can't
get shit on your fingers when learning to use a mouse with the other
    hand. :)

That's pretty much what I found when I was looking for one, and this was
back in the days when gear like the MS Natural Keyboard were the new big
    thing.

A friend of mine, sadly now expired used to use that. He reckoned it
needed re-installing every now and again and that teaching it
profanity again was a bit of a pain.
