Where do ukrm's more portly gentleman buy their (formal) shirts?

I've just had one delivered from Highandmighty online, and whilst the
collar is a good fit, I'll need to put on around five stone to get
anywhere near the rest of it. A couple of extra inches in each arm
    wouldn't go amiss, either.

Gawd only knows what species it's been made for.

Are you calling in anywhere (Hong Kong?) on your way down under? I've
heard that having them tailor made is the way forward. I certainly
intend to explore this avenue the next time I'm in India.

My problem is finding an 18" collar combined with a long enough body.

Sounds like they saw the name Nick and sent you a Fat Nick Davies size.

A previous manager of mineused to do this, the tailor kept his details
on file and then new suits and shirts were but a phone call away.

Complete with fake designer labels because he was a flashy (but not
rich) brummie. Certainly seemed like well made gear, and stupidly
    cheap.

On the way back, for a day, but I need one for Monday week.
18"? Highandmighty "Tall" might do you, then. Only go up to 19"
though, which is a bit daft.

They seem to think that a 21" neck is only to be found on an elephant
    seal.

If it's just one you need, I'd suggest biting the bullet and having one
    made at a decent tailor.

There's a place on the InterWeb thingy (http://www.customshirtsuk.com)
that suggests they can do them for 35 sheets, but they need three weeks.

I've been using a tailor in Singapore for a few years. I get shirts
that fit for less than I'd buy off the peg shirts. I've had
shirts/suits mailed to me from Singapore with no problems (and no tax.)

In the past I've had stuff tailored in Bangkok as well. I think you'll
be able to get something made wherever you pass through on the way to
NZ, assuming you're spending a day or so at your stop over.

Many of the tailors from the far east do 'tours' of the UK where they
take measurements, make stuff back home and ship it to the UK. I've seen
adverts in the times and the like for them.

Aha. Tyrwhitt do a fitted shirt with a 20" collar. I've just tried a
tape-measure, and I think I can get away with it.

Salad Dodger emerged from their own little world to say
    Your nearest chav shopping centre.

With a choice of only Burtons or Peacocks in my local shopping centre I
found the latter carries shirts in fat **** sizes. A little baggy but looks
fine as long as I keep a jacket on.
