Thanks. We're only going to be there for a couple of days anyway, as a
    stop over to Oz :)

That sounds like an idea I would have had, perhaps as part of the
    non-stop flight.

Indeed, and your rec of the Novotel is well remembered, and meets with
the approval of both my wallet and SWMBO :)

    Are Trailfinders web only?

Nope, they do have shopses. I had a look at www.trailfinders.com for
a 'my nearest shoppe' link but there isn't one there. The staff
should know what they're doing as the recruitment pages are only open
to people who have travelled extensively to long-haul destinations.

My local shoppe in Canterbury seem to have most of their staff on the
phone, so when their staff aren't seeing to peeps in the shop their
downtime appears to be taken up by forming some kind of ad-hoc
nationwide call centre so one would assume that if you just call the
national number on their website they will be able to tell you where
your nearest face-to-face shoppe is, if you haven't got through to it
    by default on the phone.

It always was. Even when it was still on the old waterfront 30 years
    ago it was a shithole.

That takes me back - it was an ok place to leave the old folks while I
went roaming in the area around "Change Alley". Lots of nifty shops wot
they hadn't got in KL(or anywhere in Norway). Great fun.

44 years ago though - all gone a long time ago.
