    Breakfast buffets are *fatal*
It's not that bizarre. I use Waitrose every day ;)
    Awesome, thanks.

Do you realise that this entire post is about food?

Are there any other reasons to go to Singapore?

there's a lot of lingam worshipping going on, so that's two of my areas of

Last time, and first, I was there was in 1978. It was, errr,
    intersting, to say the least.
    I'm sure.

Long, drawn out and tedious are the words I'd use
Prolly a sheltered life in central europe, eh ?

I was fifteen - just the right age to be stupid enough to think going
alone into the nasty parts of the world of that day was a great
    adventure.

These days I believe I know the risks...

    Newton Circus.

    Is it still there?

    <googles> seems to be.
Rayfish, chicken satay, oyster omelette. mmmmmm.

Though I did get the worst food poisoning of my life on the latter...

I think Newton circus closed down, and then re-opened in slightly
different form[1] from then. Don't be put off - I stayed there for three
or four weeks another time and never had any bother. I lost weight, but
I think that was just the (more healthy?) diet. The only other bad meal
I had was in a 'Western' restaurant - don't bother.

    [1] cleaned up

Is there any reason I should? I'm more likely to go sightsee where I
used to live, assuming it hasn't been demolished to make way for the
    airport.

We weren't in Brighton Crescent for very long, it's probably been
demolished by now. Both houses in Jalan Terentang are still standing,
friends of mine were there last year and took photos of them for my
    parents.
