I expect there are people posting or lurking who might be able to advise on
the best way of freighting something quite large. Corvette Convertible
large. From the American Eastern seaboard to an Italian port? I don't mind
which port, although it's ending up at the company villa in Tuscany.

Possible agents. Likely cost etc. It doesn't really matter how long it sits
    In Transit.

We moved a vintage 911 from CA to Belfast a few years ago but that was a
level of care, service and cost beyond this requirement.

Shove it in a container. Then it doesn't matter what the actual contents
    are.

  3. This is mostly the right answer. Arranging it yourself can be a bit of
a nightmare, expecially if you're not present at both ends to deal with
paperwork (Shipping paperwork is easy, DMV and whatever the Italian
equivilent is, plus the import paperwork, might not be). Some Freight
Forwarders won't ship cars. Find an 'Auto Shipping' company in the US
that has a partner in Italy. Get them to sort it out.

That's old - I didn't think they started making Porches until the '50s
    ;-)

Wot 'e said. Depending on where said car is I don't mind checking it and
    its paperwork out for you...

Cheers. The cage is already owned, it's just the shipping, probably
    temporary
