things like the Africa and Italy Star. Poor beggar got a bit bent out of
shape at a little fracas at Monte Cassino. Your grandfather won't have had
any easy time of it.

75% of my tribe are spics, so none of them had it easy.

 

Pa loved Italy, and we went back there many many times when I was growing
up. He had an Italian quotes POW unquotes as a cook, for nearly two years.
When they got to Cassino, said cook decided he'd had enough, and decamped,
with full permission. In the 50's, parents went to the Ligurian Riviera for
a holiday. They were sat sitting in a cafe, when the waiter ran over, hugged
him, and greeted him as Sergeant McIntosh. Yup, it was the cook. Pa says it
got a bit embarrassing, as they ended up being totally unable to pay for
drinks anywhere in the town.

that. I'm not too bothered about the rest of the tribe, but I liked my
