FOAK: which polished metal protection works best?

    any recommendations please for protecting a highly polished aluminium
    headlight bracket.
    I was thinking of a clear laquer or maybe some sort of wax protection,
    lots of products out there but which actually work ??????

    Or lots of thick grease, dirt sticks to it and makes it look nice and

    Waxoyl. Either have it as an obvious wax coating or a cloth soaked in
    the stuff wiped over bare metal does the job. You need to redo every so
    often.
