Is this a good price ?

Is there 'owt I should be looking for specifically if I wander round to kick
    the tyres ?

I would say definitely. I would just check out that the mileage is legit
    and everything is in order.

  3. Check second gear, they're known for dropping out of gear if they've
been abused for wheelies etc. Must be due valve clearances?

Second gear as mentioned elsewhere, rear shock is weak, probably need a
new one, put slightly thicker oil in the front forks transforms the front
end. engine should feel strong in the mid range(more torque than an R6).
tyres they suit 010, 020 combo really well. exhaust headers rot so check
    for leaks.

quite a few imports about so check headlight is either UK or flat dipped
    to avoid MOT issues

Having said all that, thats a very good price for one.

If you kick 'em too hard and cause any damage, I've got a brand new pair of
tyres strapped to two perfect condition wheels (including discs and
sprocket) sat here just waiting for someone to need 'em.

Bear 'em in mind for when the time comes.

  6. Thanks for the advice all...... I will go and have a look tomorrow or
    Sunday.

    Spare wheels eh ?

Hmmmmm, road wheels / road tyres plus track wheels / cut slicks for the
    ring..... tempting, very tempting.

Two of 'em. One front and believe it or not, one back:)
Road wheels with (I think) either 010's or 020's. Done about 50 miles before
my make killed the bike. As it happens I'm halfway through doing a paint job
on the full plastics on a 'Cat too. I enjoyed riding my pal's before he
binned it and that was before he fitted the new tyres. Good mid range for a
600 and not too shabby at the top end either as I recall.

I'll check in the morning exactly which tyres they are if you like.
