Anyone know anything or have any opinions about these mid-1990s ex-MoD
Rotax-engined Harley Davidson MT350s that are being auctioned off? Some of
them only have a few hundred miles on the clock and are said to "start and
run with the clutch, gears and engine operating".

    Pic at http://tinyurl.com/mod-harley.

    Just wondering...

I had the MT500 version and they're pretty well indestructible but
    very agricultural.

  4. HD took over the contract from Armstrong iirc. The bike was the
successor the Bombardier Can-Am, and a bit more leggy. The Rotax lump
went in various bikes from other makers and was near indestructible, so
in its low-tuned Army form was quite (relatively) squaddy-proof.
Should you be so inclined, you could bolt on various stock parts from
other Rotaxes and have a significant power increase.
I bought a Can-Am years ago and fancied one of the Armstrongs when they
became available, but by then I'd moved, so it never happened.

Ah, okay, thanks. An Electraglide (in blue) it is then!

They're heavy like something that's very heavy. I thought about
    getting one,
but they have the same power as a DR350, have lower torque and weigh
    about 30 kgs more...
