Your collective wisdom would be appreciated. I've Googled but these don't
seem to come up for sale very often and I'm struggling to come up with a
sensible quote. Two friends want to buy but I want to play fair(ish).

    It's a 1990 G-plate Honda MT50 'trailie'. New chain & sprockets, battery,
front tyre, brake cable, wing mirrors - the rest is pretty much original
except for a bit of a refurb. It had 12k on the clock by 2000 but it's been
garaged for the last nine years. Barrel is nice and shiny, it starts first
time, gear box seems very smooth, electrics all work, it passed its MoT last
week and does 35mph flat out with 15st on board.

    Opinions would be very welcome.

Christ, I had one of those as my first bike, same colour, same year.

Anything more than tuppence is a rip-off.

You're probably not wrong. How much did you pay for yours?

800 quid, iirc, and that was in 1993 with a handful of miles on the
    clock.

  5. Blimey. That's tidy. £400 all day long. Trail 'peds are always in the
    want.

Hang on to it for 20 years, then when Ogden's got his rose tinted specs
on, sell it to him for £3,000. (Adjust price appropriately for inflation).

    cf Yamaha FS1E.

    heh.

I'm not sure I'd want another FS1E, unless I was starting a museum.

The only bikes I've owned that I'd have back would be the Z1100R and
    the 9R.
