Michelin have gone and messed me up totally now, they've scratched the Mac
90 rear / Mac100 front pairing I run on the Bindit, and replaced them
apparently with a more racy Pilot Road (wot the tire fitter has
    recommended).

Anyone got any opinions? It's an old bandit 6, so super grippy/sticky isn't
a lot of good for the power I've got and the way I ride it.

I normally run 8-10k on a set, and want something with similer longevity
(please don't say BT020's, that's what the muppets in the garage fitted last
time, 6k miles and it's scragged)

Some urgency here, as I need the tires fitted in the next 2 weeks before
heading up north on the rbr.

    thanks, Tim S

Can't comment on the B6 but on the B12 I got the best mileage from
Continental Road Attacks and they were fine grip wise wet and dry. The Avon
Azorro (now replaced by Storms) were also fine.

Personally I wouldn't have the macs as I found them lethal on the Blackbird
but why don't you order a set on line and chuck the local fitter a few beer
    tokens?

On a B6 I'm sure Avon Storm ST's will be just fine and they start with 1/2
    an inch of tread.

Over 6,000 miles from a set on my B650. I replaced them early as I fancied
newish, unsquared tyres for a trackday on Tuesday. The ones I removed still
have shitloads of tread left. They will be refitted when this set wear out.
They were -brilliant- on the trackday. I had total and utter confidence in
my tyres, so much so that I didn't give them a single thought, other than "
**** me, they are grippy when warmed to snotting point"

So, good grip wet or dry, OK for trackdays ( I run in the inters group. I
get wasted on the straights but catch up in corners ) combined with good
    mileage.

Personally, I won't fit Michelins again. It is a personal thing.

    Hog says...
I had Azaro 45/46s on my B6 and they lasted for over 8K miles, even
taking in a trackday at Mallory on them. I sold the bike with about 3mm
of tread on the back tyre.

They grip bloody well for a sports touring tyre, in wet or dry
conditions. The Michelin Pilot Road 2s that I have on my Daytona are
lasting really well, with 5K miles on them now and about 3mm of tread
    left.

The Avon Storms don't last as long as the Azaros they replaced, so I am
    told.

Whatever you fit, they'll be infinitely better than the fucking useless
black hoops of shite they call Michelin Macadams.

Sounds like a pair of solid votes for the Avons, I'll call up the fitter
tomorrow and tell him to get a pair in for me.

    Thanks gents.

I have been using Pilot Road for a while (after a couple of sets of
Mac90) and they are nice, and last even longer than the Mac.

The Swedish bloke (Ghost rider) uses Macadams on his Gixxer for doing his
long distance suicide runs. Apparently they're the only tyres that haven't
given him a problem at sustained 170mph+ speeds.

At the risk of me already being whooshed, I don't think so. It wouldn't be a
death that would go unnoticed and someone on t'interwebby thing would have
    posted *something* about it.

The Avon Azaro's are off. apparently replaced by Avon Storms, so I've
ordered a pair of them, despite the bloke trying his best to sell me a set
    of Bridgestones.
