That will be a color issue, I prefer a better flavor but I must have left
it in my trunk after I crossed the sidewalk trying to find the gas
    station.

Man: "I'd like a set of tires for my bindit please"
Tyre fitter: "Certainly sir, how about a nice set of Bridgestone BT020's?"
Man: "Actually, I'd like a Michelin Mac 90 rear, and a Mac 100 front"
Fitter: "Sorry sir, those are obsolete and have been replaced by the
Michelin Pilot Road. Why not try some BT020's instead?"
Man (after quick UKRM consult) "How about a set of Avon Azaros then?"
Fitter: "Sorry sir, they also are obsolete, replaced by Avon Storms."
Man: "Ok, I'll take a set"

Fitter (on phone): Sorry sir, we can't get the Storms, how about a nice set
    of Bridgestone BT020's?"
Man: "I'd rather not have the 020's, they are more grippy than I need, and
    don't last very long."
Fitter: "No problem sir, how about Bridgestone 045's then?"
    Man: "Ok."

Man: (just arrived at the garage): "Why have I got Metzler Roadtec Z6's on
    my bike?"
Fitter: "Ah yes, we couldn't get the BT045 front, only the rear, but look,
    the Metzler's are cheaper . . . "
Man: "Well since they are on the bike, and you've dragged my all the way up
here without telling me, I guess I'll give them a ago"

    sigh.

Why didn't you find somewhere who could get you the tyres you wanted and
    have them fitted locally?

Azaro 3 AV45/46STs are still available in 150 size, with a 110/70 front
    to match, from Universal Tyres:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/110-70ZR17-150-70ZR17-Avon-Azaro-AV45-AV46-
    Tyres_W0QQitemZ300004192865QQihZ020QQcategoryZ21669QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewI
    tem

They also have Storms in both 150 and 160 rear sies for 600 and 650
    Bandits with matching fronts.

I now recommend Universal to anyone who asks where to find cheap tyres

Have you ever considered spending some of you money on a new spine?

You should have told him to get them off, put your original tyres back
on and re-balance the wheels or give you a minimum of 25% off the
    bill.

I should have I suppose, but I need them for friday (rbr holiday) so
arriving to find that they were already fitted sort of buggered it all up, a
pair of tyres on the bike is worth 2 in a van I guess.

I'll see how they survive Scotland

You suffer from the same problem as Bear[1], you're a **** magnet. Lets
be honest, there aren't many places you have a trouble free experience
of where bikes are concerned. Between me and a fair few of my mates off-
ukrm we've bought shedloads of tyres from the guys at Dunstable without
any hic-ups, but somehow you managed to have all the hassle. Their ebay
feedback is most impressive, with good reason.

I like the guys there, they always give me an armload of freebies
they've nicked off tyre company reps whenever I go there.

[1] I bought the tyres for his Gixer from there, but no doubt he would
have had a problem somewhere along the line with them.
