  1. Rather nice animation of a CBX engine assembly.

  2. Click on the progress bar a few mm into the vid - for some reason it
didn't start instantly for me either.

Nice? Not the word that comes to my mind.

    Why?

is the first, quickly followed by "for" then "****'s" and "sake".

    Blimey, a bit anal.

So was that a CAD package, an animation package or what?

And do CBX camshafts really come in two major pieces?

Yes. And the joiny bits in the middle wear out.

Just another piece of "characterful" engineering insight from the
    mighty H.

Like two camchains, and an alternator with a clutch.

  9. Yes. The joint is known as an Oldham Coupling, presumably because it's
    used to old 'em together.

Bloody hell, isn't memory a peculiar thing. I just turned almost
straight to the page (150) in the gospel according to St Phil about
them. Cammy singles in that case though.

Well if you were drivng twenty-four valves off one roller chain, I
could sort of understand it. But... looking at the animation again,
first, the sprockets look more like gears, which implies Hy-Vo chains,
and the camshaft sprockets seem to be offset, which implies that there
are two crank-to-camshaft chains, but there seems to be only one
    sprocket on the crankshaft.

Surely they don't slave one camshaft off the other? It's just the
    animation, right?

  15. They do.

Same with the CB750 and CB900 fours of the same era.
