The garlic beer seems to be a mediocre lager with bits of garlic in it
Not sure I saw any decent beer at the festival.

  4. Are you sure you are reading my posts and not someone elses?
No - I'm completely sincere in my dislike of and distaste for olives.
In any form. I even dislike eating foods cooked in olive oil.

I did once eat an olive that I didn't actively dislike. It was pickled
so that you couldn't taste the olive..
*Shudder*. C thought so too. So I offered to let her cook it while I
went to the takeaway for something for me..

Pretty much all Land Rovers have character, it's when they develop a
    personality that the adventures begin.

    Personality, yes.

It's a (mostly, by about 1% if you go by weight) 1968 Series IIA, but
the chassis was hand made in Rochdale last year, and everything behind
the driver's seat above the chassis is off a 1973 version. Bloomin' BMW
driver tried to park under it about a decade ago.

It's mostly blue, too, by about the same margin.....

The rest is either grey, black or aluminium.

Saw a Lard Rover Discovery towing a 7.5 tonne truck off the M6 on
Friday. Slowly - but it was managing it.

Is that an Exclusive Or, or is someone going to post a recipe involving

It was a dibblemobile, so probably had an automatic greasebox, which
    would have helped no end.

They all (lard + range have full 4wd and a low ratio beergox, and a diff lock
between front and rear. Still can get easily stuck in snow as not full diff
    lock.

I've spent many hours rzcyblrq with shovel in clod wevver. Glad I've re

  17. I've dragged a twelve ton coach off the road into the depot after its
clutch failed. First low, let the clutch in gently, and about a quarter
throttle. Our fitter had just managed to write off a brand new Transit
clutch trying to do it. There was a dropped kerb, but the back of the
pavement was at the normal level, which is why he couldn't get the pull
    needed.

I dragged any number of Routemaster buses and Leyland Leopards round a
storage yard, too, when I was jbexvat in Richmond, Surrey a couple of
decades ago. The clutch is currently just over 20 years old, with about
40 thousand miles on it, and about half worn, by my best guess.

I'm about to replace a 15 year old sidelight bulb which failed on the
way home just now. These modern ones just don't last.....

When I bought my Xantia a couple of years ago the clutch was clearly on

    Still is.

Peel a bananana per person and inset slivers of garlic. Wrap in a rasher
or two of streaky bacon. Bake in a hot over for a bit, til the bacon is
well cooked, preferably on a rack over an oven tray. Stir the juices in
the tray into Red Sauce (preferably home-made), cut the bacon/ banana
into thick slices and lay on pasta of your choice, with the red sauce
    poured over.

Not sure how to include the chocolate, but if you made the sauce a
veggie chilli sauce, it is quite legitimate to add some cocoa powder of
melt in some chocolate. Don't know how it would go with the bacon banana
though. Alternatively, slice lengthways along an unpeeled banana per
person and insert slivers of chocolate. Wrap in foil and bake, also in
hot oven, and serve to those still able to eat after the main course,
preferably doused in rum and with cream on the side.
