Have a look at the post an hour or so ago on uk.sci.weather from Bjørn
Sørheim. Sounds pretty dodgy out there this winter, even the locals are
    commenting on this!

You my mock, but seriously many are highly qualified/massively experienced
current or retired meterologists. A few keen amateurs too but again their
forecasting track record is on the whole so much better than the twats they
    put on the tv.

A little flooding after a recent change to westerlies and milder
weather, which will be over in a couple of days. Nowhere near the road
    to the North.

I'm sure the trekkers are more interested in monitoring the conditions
where they are heading, e.g. here: <tinyurl.com/RoadWebcam-No>

A commercial site's link to the same webcams, with many links to the
    "vegvesen.no" site.

How do you find the status reports in Norwegian? E.g. "Snø- og isdekke.
    Fare for elg."

Perhaps better translation than the original :) Google got it nearly
right with "Risk of moose" (wrong subspecies).

If the snow should get too deep, it might perhaps better to try and
hitch a hike with this fellow <tinyurl.com/Local4x4>
