If you're in normal range, what's the problem?

Government health advisors? Don't make us laugh. One week they tell us we
shouldn't eat eggs, then the week after they're the best thing since sliced
bread, which is bad for you unless it's brown bread which isn't as good for
you as whole grain unless you're a diabetic who doesn't deal with slow GI
foods very well because his insulin works too quickly.

In other words, Ace was perfectly right, you're talking bollocks.

Now my doctor doesn't talk bollocks and he knows that changes to ones diet
in order to reduce cholesterol is a bit of a wasted effort. The results
*may* have a slight effect, but it'[ not long term and your cholesterol
levels will creep back up again even if you stick rigidly to your changes.
And the changes only apply to about 25% of the population.

Statins are the way to go.

Tell you what Phil, us sugar mongs are odd. Niacin fucks my sugars up almost
instantly. I only have to read the word and my levels go up:)

Change your doctor then. Before you can't.

Let's see, now: elderly, diabetic Jockanese with quasi-Irish
tendencies, currently and frequently broken, possessed of extreme views
and not abashed by promulgating same. Currently associating with
younger, fitter female of higher intelligence who is accustomed to
dealing with cats, high adventure and explosives.

I can see reasonable grumpiness here.

Oh agreed, that shower of cunts can **** right off.
It's not that i want to be a fat ****, i dont even particularly want to
be thin / muscled / etc.
I just want to physically feel a bit fitter, not looking for a six pack
or any of that bollox at all
Yep, have to admit that processed foods are my weakness, also the odd
kebab, takeaway and pizza. I think making the change to fresher food
and more natural foodstuffs would certainly help me.

I've changed my kebab habit to Chicken Doner. Bit of chilli sauce and salad
and it seems like a healthy meal IMHO

Being as fit as a butchers dog doesn't mean your cholesterol will be where
    it should be though.

Those symptoms perfectly describe someone with uncontrolled or undiagnosed
diabetes too. Slow onset for a T2 and *fucking* quick for a T1.

  20. Report out this weekend recommends against prophylactic aspirin
unless you've already had an episode -- risk of haemorrhage increases by
50% or more. I mentioned to the practice nurse last week that a baby
aspirin per day isn't containing my arthritis any more, so she put me down
for some arthritis blood check as well as the usuals. Guess I'll know
more next Monday with my doctor's appointment then.
