I'm in the stages of renewing the seals & bushes in the forks of my
GSX1100EX (Australian model) & getting the inner forks hard chromed.
Listed in the Parts manual is the bottom split bushing on the inner fork
but there is no listing for the top solid one in the alloy outer slider.

I assume the top bush is removable probably with a bit of heat in the
oven but where do I get replacements?

    Any clues?

I had a similar problem when buying parts for my XR's rear shock once.
I went to the dealer, told him I had a 92 model and he said he couldn't
get the parts as they weren't available separately. Anyway, had a look
at partsfiche.com and found the parts available on an earlier model,
although they weren't shown on the 92. Both were identical rear shock
assemblies, mind you. Maybe this is the same for your bike?

    Ben.

  3. Well, don't proceed on such ass-umptions until you know for sure what
kind of animal you are ass-uming about.

"GSX" is the first letters on my engine block too, but I have a
GS1100EZ according to the designation for 82 and 83. 1980 was the
GS1100ET, 1981 was the GS1100EX, but they all said "GSX" on the
    engine...

My Clymer's manual and the online parts fiches for US models show the
lower split ring "DU" metal sleeve, but NO bushing. Can you find an
Australian model parts fiche online and post a link to it?

I doubt it! - I think we rely on YoUS blokes!

Think I'm going to have to ask a dealer.
