I was laying bets with SWMBO as to which item on the latest BBC news
broadcast would prompt a UKRM post. I knew if this one didn't it would
be il Papa pardoning John Lennon.

I should have spoiled it with a reference to the "Heroic Beavers of

  5. The odd beaver colony I can live with, unless I get clonked by a falling
tree, but it's the loons who want to re-introduce wild bear and wolves I
    utterly despise.

A wolf is just a dog with a PR problem.
The plan, AIUI, is to reintroduce wolves in parts of the highlands where
there is a problem with deer breeding out of control because their
natural predator is missing. Fine by me so long as they can be contained.

Bears are somewhat dangerous, so we're probably better off without
them, but I think it would be nice to have wolves back.

<g> How could I have forgotten you?

Come to think of it, I wonder what happened to Wolfie (Andy Mott).

  9. It's probably a plot to discourage wild camping.

    To say the least.

It would be nice to have wild wolves in the UK again.

He learnt to walk, started a band and got into the goth/S&M scene.

Aye - until the chinless wonders decided to take up wolf hunting, in the
    same manner as fox hunting.
If it moves, someone will hunt it for "sport". Bears, wolves, wild boar -
I know, let's reintroduce 'em so we can kill 'em all again.

I've just seen HMS Westminster being towed backwards past my office
window, being chased by a plod boat with its blues on.

Seriously, is there *anyone* they won't try and nick?
