Has anyone bought a bike from Fowles? (Melbourne)
Has anyone bought one without actually going there (i.e. using a bidder or
    somesuch?)
I think my GS will be coming up for auction on Wednesday and I'd like the
    chance to get it back....

The insurance will often let you buy the wreck back for some
random amount before the auction: it may turn out to be more
or less than it'll go for at auction.

(Or, at least, they let me buy my CX650 back ...)

"Good, save the "passed in" auction fee and the haulage to the tip,
sell it to him before he changes his mind!"

No bike-auction listed for next week.
After getting all the posties I was after over the last few months, I hadn't
really planned to go next month (next bike-auction should be at the 9th
    Nov.), unless there's a V-Strom listed.
Bought quite a few bikes off Fowles over the last 3 years.
Don't EXPECT your bike to be as remembered...panniers missing/ this and that
gone walkabout somewhere along the way...count on a bit more$$ to repair
than what you're possibly thinking off now.
Did phone bidding once and it turned out a very bad choice (didn't know the
bike at all, though), 2. time was a structural/ statutory write-off and I
knew I could only use it for parts.
Phone bidding is fine, register yourself at least 2 days prior...
    How's the gnat going?
    cheers

    Hey Clem,

If you want to phone bid you need to get into a fowles office (or do a
direct deposit) of $500 last time I checked at least 1 day prior to the
    auction..
They're great, they'll call your mobile as the bidding starts ! Easy if you
know the condition of the bike :)

Bought my Monster from them, damn that worked out great.

    Have fun.
