Is he MIA or has he been mentioned in despatches since Friday?

I saw him on Saturday, very happy he was too.

I am waiting on an email from him and I'm quite surprised not to have
    received one.

Strike that. E-mail received and he was somewhat hungover yesterday.
That monotreme has much to answer for.

    Not answering his phones either.

I was on the Dell site you mailed tonight. No XPS laptops. Is it just me
being a fuckwit? the dropdown doesn't list the model type at all.

On the Outlet? You don't have much chance really, the resellers have
    them pretty much stitched up.

They only appear on the drop down list when they're actually in stock.

Very nice. Elevated tickover when hot was resolved by slacking off the
tight RHS throttle cable and resetting the idle screws to a half turn out,
rather than one-and-a-bit. I sorted the tyre pressures and took it out for
a spin. Lovely light handling, decently nippy when shown the whip,
responded well to clear direction[1]. I imagine the suspension could be
improved, and the "comfort saddle" had the plush, luxurious depth of an
excessively-laundered nylon shirt. The centre box was probly Keihan, but
the rest was rusty OEM. The service it had may not have stretched to
changing the gearbox or bevel box oil, and the oil cooler connection over
the oil filter didn't appear to have been disturbed. The spark plugs looked
a bit hot, and the paint was not a little purple.

Apart from that, fine, clean, nice to ride.

[1]Like the Wermacht. Given the proper orders, it would go clear across
    Europe, stopping only for petrol.

The easiest way would be to ask someone to find you one. You would need
to tell him your minimum spec and maximum price and he could try to
find one for you. There was a stack last week including a very
    reasonably priced Core 2 Duo.

I've missed whatever post there may have been on what this is.

My guess is it's a pile of shite.

So does it out-GQ the GQ?

Sounds like the pattern comfort seat. They never seemed anything like as
    good as OEM IMO

Apart from the pop-out gazoombas. It doesn't have gazoombas.
You'll remember I fitted a nold /7 saddle to mine. Much better than the one
    it came with.

Was that the old model seat with the space for a First Aid kit in the
    front?

I never thought of this. The /7 has the seat cowl etc integrated IIRC?
so the OEM topbox would be out but it is a more comfortable seat and
    looks nicer.

No, this was the really old one that was a plain ordinary saddle with a
chrome hitching rail on the back.
Some /7s had the cowl. Mine didn't.

Tended to sit a bit low on the Mono sidepanels. Abraded the paint on the
RHS, popped the LHS one off somewhere along the local roads. But, comfy,
and quite smart looking, as you can see. No fucking around required to fit,
    either.
