Er, would you consider a Thunderace as "antique" and buy it at an excellent
    (for me) price?
   )

my place. in Charente Maritime, full of sun and small towns and lil
    twisty roads.
    yes.

not so much junk shops as THE most amazing huge take-over-the-town
    brocantes/vide greniers (flea market/carbootsale/secondhand
stalls/antiques), whic are a quarter-mile of the kind of stuff you don't
see in the wild in England since antiques tv took over.

What is 'your place' - hotel? Gite? One bed flat?
    Sounds perfect.

house, currently has only 2 bedrooms (though one of them is very big).
plus attic to be converted to 2 more bedrooms. and a garage-workshop to
be converted to a gite. and a little old house (without water). and a
barn at the back of the house for a rehearsal room.

I could suggest a nice little[1] gite just outside Orthez, but that
    would constitute spamming[2], so I won't.

    [1] Sleeps 8, pool.[3]
[2] Technically, I don't benefit, but the SiL would.
[3] Unfortunately, it's in the "HFM?" category.
