  1. And split-brain hearing so you can listen to both?

If there was an option to watch the rugby with no commentary, I'd take
    it.

    "no commentary" != "no sound"

I'm sure something like GoldWave would do a fair job of stripping it
    out.

I'm sure it would. I want to watch live, though.

It's been an option on many of Sky's live sport broadcasts for a while
but afaik ITV haven't quite got that far yet.

I generally find it better with no sound _and_ no picture.

  8. Where the option is available, I prefer to listen to the radio
commentary while watching the telly pics, largely because the tellybox
commentators usually get up my nose.
Radio 5 via sat is good for that - or it used to be for F1.

    I tried that with cricket.

Unscrambled pictures were being broadcast on an Asian TV channel witn
    commentary in Urdu.

I tuned into the R5 commentary on my laptop which lagged about 1 ball an
over behind the TV pictures. So, I got the LW radio out and tuned into TMS.
The analogue signal was about a ball ahead of the pictures. So much for
    modern technology.

It was handy having the commentary ahead of the pictures, though. It meant
I could be doing something else and then look up to get a "live" action
replay when Aggers got all excited.

Overzealous removal of torrents and data as I'd run out of disc space
