A load of us, approx 16 are going to Ostend in June for a long weekend,
out friday back sunday, on the saturday we want to go for a ride say
100 miles each way, probably back into france, anybody know of any good
    places to visit?

We have done the war memorials and doodle bug places already.

    Thanks
    Alan

  2. The Ardennes, around La Roche en Ardenne. You won't want to come home.

Yup. Lovely area. Han sur Lesse, Rochefort.

Bit far from Ostend, though - Map24 says 150 miles each way, and that's
ignoring the fun bit when you're there.

Those that are into the tourist thing can traipse around the Trappistry and
buy souvenir beverages. Others who prefer to ride a few more miles can have
a bit of fun around the Ardennes.

However, if you have the option, ditch Ostend as somewhere to stay and find
    somewhere closer to decent roads.

+1. Unless you're staying at the Groenedijk, which is fun.

Looks ghastly, but I can see it might appeal to those used to Community

On the seafront there's a seafood restaurant where the food is
theatrically revealed from under silver domes at the table by camp
waiters. Well worth a visit. Then there's the Daikin air confitioning
factory, but you'd need an invite for that, and it's dull.
