    Reine Mathilde, sweet Normandy cider.

    Not as sweet as you'd expect and bloody good - almost knocks my
    current fave - Thatcher's "Katy" - into second place.

    £1.70-something for a 75cl bottle at Aldi.

    pfffttt. The genuine fermier stuff from just across the road from where
    I happen to be right now is unbeatable.

    IMHO.

    <pops another cork>

    Catman, only the Brut available atm, got you a box.

    Took your advice. Got a bottle of the 2% sweet stuff and the 4.5% dry
    stuff, and a bottle of the proper english 7.something% Katy to try a
    comparison test.

    To add to this cider loverliness, if you have tried the "Jaques" french
    cider the supermarkets are selling (apple or apple with added fruit),
    Asda do their own French "Fruit" cider at sub £2 for a 70cl bottle and
    it ain't bad.
