The Old Man Still Has It
    By Dirck Edge

With two prominent riders in their 20's, including Ben Bostrom and
Jake Zemke (Zemke technically rides for Erion Honda, but on a full
factory Honda superbike), you would think that the Honda superbike
effort is in the middle of some sort of youth movement. After all,
Bostrom has won half a dozen or so World Superbike races (including
five in a row, at one point), and Zemke has burst onto the scene (so
to speak) showing real speed and spunk.

You might be excused for thinking Honda kept Miguel Duhamel on the
team this year to teach these young punks a thing or two. After all,
they couldn't have expected a 35 year old relic to win races, could
they? Bet your ass they did!

Turns out Miguel is teaching the younger riders by showing them the
fast way around the race track. With three straight Formula Xtreme
victories, and Honda's lone superbike victory this year, Zemke and
Bostrom are being "schooled" by Duhamel in more ways than one.

Just to make sure everyone is noticing, in the span of about five
seconds, Duhamel passed Zemke in the Infineon Superbike race on
Sunday, and pulled a huge wheelie across the finish line, a couple of
feet in front of Zemke's fender. It is good to see Duhamel not only
has his speed, but the same playfulness he has long been known for.
This latter fact might be the best thing Zemke and Bostrom could
    observe about the matter.
