Front brake very poor

It is increasingly difficult to find clear petrol proof plastic tube,
braided or not. I need some for the rocker breathers on the SO Morini.
B & Q[1] do polythene tube in the right size as Antonye says, but I'm
not sure I fancy using it.

[1] yes we have them in the frozen midlands.

I wasn't too sure if it would be proof-enough to do brake fluid,
but tbh it would last long enough to bleed the brakes and it's
cheap enough to chuck it away and buy another bit next time,
especially when you can get 3-4 lengths out of a metre.

I did have some clear tube that I used on reservoirs but they
started leeching after a week, so had to replace it with some
proper black reservoir tube that I got from GPRdirect.com who
    are Brembo importers.

Funnily enough, I was looking at petrol hose the other day
as I've put a new tank on the 748 to finally replace the
dinged one from a couple of years ago; just in time for
the French Run. I had originally swapped a new tank but
never got round to fitting it, only to find a couple of
weeks ago that the pump mount was warped so it wouldn't hold
any fuel. Anyway (getting back on track) I went to measure what
size petrol hose I needed for the breathers inside the tank
so I could order some off ebay, only to find that there were
some in the warped tank that I could put into the new tank and
use the dinged one for trackdays. Kinda result.

Maybe the lack of clear hose is down to the prevalence of
FI systems and the higher pressures that require braided
    lines?

Hmm, 1/4 ID is a bit skimpy. I could soften the end (ooh mrs) in hot
water and force it on, but I wouldn't like to restrict the breathing. In
the past I have used the clear pipe with a thready braided appearance,
which seems to go brittle with age (I suppose 25 years is asking abit
much), or the clear blue/green 'Cavis' stuff which is fairly firm.

It needs to be resistant to kinking or squishing. I route it as
carefully as I can, but in the rush of paddock fiddling it might get
    trapped.

Thank you. £50 sounds acceptable. A quick rummage on Google has found
    these for £63 + £5 postage.

If anyone knows of a cheaper option then that would be useful.

Go for 2 long hoses and a double length bolt at the top.

The total length of hose is greater (by the length of the normal top
section) but it's still cheaper and much easier to bleed and keep air-free
as there's nowhere for air to get trapped in the middle.

The hoses I linked to come with all hoses with stainless fittings,
stainless banjos and new copper washers, they even have rubber hose
protectors on the lines to go into cable clamps. At about 50 quid for
three lines you won't find cheaper, and they are a respected brand too.

That may well be it. Even my local pikey car parts place could only
offer thick walled black hose in various diameters.

I may well go with the B&Q stuff. As it is only carrying crankcase fumes
rather than fuel supply it isn't too critical. If it starts to degrade I
can change it. I don't want anything too large in OD as it has to fit in
to the opening in my catch bottle. One inch bore crankcase breather,
plus two rocker box breathers in to the same Halfords bike drink bottle
I used in 1981. The labyrinth 'arrestors' in all three breathers do a
pretty good job anyway. Though when I had a Rope type ring catastrophe
once (not diesel in the tank but a bodged rebore) the bottle earned it's
    keep.
