  1. I've seen one of those. Actually it was a car, about 20+ years ago. The
local plod were Not Amused and it came to an end rather quickly.

The driver was a stupid **** who made himself a target for stopping at
every opportunity. Wore him down rapidly.

Please insert these two commas : , , after "on" and "bargain".

I was talking about 'Mark' buying cheap and inflating the price for the BIN
    price.

Well, there you go, Ace (and anyone else who GAF).

I haven't the *slightest* idea what he's rabbiting on about, although I
have a suspicion it has something to do with when he flipped his lid
over a comment about Windy's cremation. That, or it's *another* of his
    wild flights of fantasy.

The "I'd love to tell you but I can't" is a ploy he's used many times.
It's quite a good one, actually: "Oooooh, he's done something terrible,
but I can't *possibly* tell you what...." Gets people wondering.

He has never told *me* what his beef is, either, so I'm in no psoition
to confirm or deny it, publicly or otherwise, which would go a long way
towards clearing the air or proving him to be.... well, let's say, in
this case - incorrect and ill-informed. In fact, there's an idea. How
about it Bear? What's this great secret misdemeanour I'm supposed to
    have done?

Or (equally likely) he's just still hissy-fitting over having his
repeated falsehoods repeatedly unmasked for what they are.

For my part, I simply can't take much of what he posts seriously - not
given his past record of lies, and not while (as Lady Nina perceptively
observed) he continues always to play the victim. I know you and others
think he's a fine chap: I know also that a lot of people consider him
    scum. YMMV.

I'm sure Madeleine Allbright would have done it better. Well, the least
you - or someone else, prolly - can do is to reply to my earlier
posting, so Bear can at least see my invitation to him to let me know
exactly what he's whinging about. Otherwise I'll just have to assume it
    is, indeed, bollocks.

Leave me out of this. Over the years (not just in here) Bear has been
a complete star and a complete ****. Is there any of us who can say
    different?

  10. Quite. Profuse apologies.

Changing the subject entirely, I found I still have a spare coil/HT lead
assembly for the Benly. If the coil ever goes, it's ferociously
expensive to replace, and nobody seems to do patter 6v coils with two HT
    leads.

Anyway, if there's anyone on he underground railway about... It's not
like it's urgent, anyway. It'll keep until the French Run.

The sod will expire on the Africa run now. Assuming it is prior to the
    French run.

  12. Well you and me both then. I was going to venture into the shark
infested waters but then I don't claim to have even 1% of a clue as to
what has gone on or not. I think I'm on reasonable terms with the two
persons involved but I think my diplomatic skills - and, yes, I do have
some - would not be a match for this "dispute".

It's a shame to keep seeing this game of "ping pong" reappear.

  13. *Shrug*

I've tried before, but all I hear is this "You've done something
terrible which I'm not going to tell anyone about" line. I've offered
him the chance to let me know exactly wtf he's banging on about, because
    I haven't a clue. I believe now it's just the usual bollocks.

And you seem to have a glimmer of diplomacy about you, true....
