you don't have a must go price. You are not asking much below a dealer
    price for an un-disastered machine.

I fancy a big, fast tourer but I won't be tempted this side of May unless
you are willing to let it go for a lot less.

  4. It's not mine and I didn't decide the price, it is however in my
garage on behalf of my BIL who lives in Spain, and it a bit pushed for
cash. He really does want to sell it, so if you are interested there
    is room for discussion.

Yes, I know the back story and the time he has had it for sale. He needs to
    wake up to reality.

If it has to go stick it on Ebay. I doubt it will reach £2500 this time of
year. I might go as far as £3k but I don't have a lot of time to come to
look at it. The damage is the big thing. I wouldn't buy it without a good
look. Sometimes what appears as minor cosmetic damage turns out to be more
    expensive.

Send him the "get real" message and see what he says.

  6. Just looked at this. Five grand? He doesn't need a "get real" message:
    he needs ECT.

do you think £2.5k is where it would finish on Ebay?

  8. No, I think it would go higher. £3.0-3.5k.Perhaps more. The trouble is
that the question people would ask is: if it only costs £200 for the
parts, why not fix it and then advertise it?

hence my comment above, about not committing to buy prior to viewing it

  11. I have had a chat with him and am going to order the fairing parts and
get a couple of new tyres.

I too, would be suspicious of an advert suggesting a cheap fix that
hadn't been done, you never know what is lurking under it. The asking
price is about right by comparison to others on Autotrader, but
looking at Ebay they don't seem to be selling and if they do it's not
for anything like the asking prices, there are a few that do seem to
buck the trend but I suspect that they are shill bidded by the
advertisers mates because the bike wasn't making what the seller
wanted. Including one that apparently was sold at the same time by the
same seller for two different prices.
