Where's JackH when you need him in a thread?

 

There's a slow but steady stream of good examples on sale on the FJ12
forum. £800 or thereabouts is the going rate for regulars on there,
but there's the odd joker with a £1200 example up, but usually gets
haggled down.

But the other member had his reply in first and it's up to the seller who
gets the bike.

Oh yeah, good idea. He sees something and thinks "Mmmm, best not make an
offer in case someone else wants what's on offer". Smart thinking that is.

I guess that's down to the seller. In an ideal world, I'd like to think
it's first come first served of the people who need it for
themselves/family, & if there's none of those, then throw it open to
the rest.

I was thinking more along the lines of a post saying 'if nobody needs
that, I'd be interested in having it to repair & sell/break & sell'.

I can see both sides tbh, speaking as a former vulture myself. ;-)

If an ad is put up, then it is first come first served and it's up to them
what they do with the lucky purchase... but then I can also see why, in an
effective online community like this, the same person always seemingly
getting in first for the bargains could become irritating after a while.

Whatever, on this occasion JB posted up first in here he was interested and
that should stand so long as he and the seller come to a mutual agreement on
the price.

It doesn't matter what planet he's from, surely you can appreciate why some
might find the same person seemingly snapping up all the bargains in here a
little irritating after a while, even if it is effectively a free for all.

I'm not criticising it... just explaining why someone might get a bit fucked
off with it after a while, which is what it appears has happened in this
instance.

What's wrong with making a profit from something if you have the skills
or drive to do so?

And what about the poor seller, does he get a chance to get a good deal
for himself or do you want to make sure he loses on the deal too?

 

Then offer more for it and spare a thought for the poor seller.

I didn't realise Krusty wanted it.
