Of bikes, cold, camping and the like
    <cough>

I'll just put my knitting down and go and clean the kitchen shall I?

Before anyone answers bear in mind what knitting needles actually are.

Oh good point! *GOOD* point. Do us a kebab while you're in there. And
pop another button or two on that blouse, the lads'll like that.

haven't you got a kitten to think about?
crocheting[1] is much more feminine than knitting, dear.

[1] I have a "funny story" about a girl I used to know who crocheted,
but I'm not posting it on here...just in case.

Slipped my mind. See, there's bound to be at least one woman !
You've just reminded me of a book I once read, "Use of Weapons" by Ian
    M. Banks. I feel a visit to the library coming on as I'm not sure I got
    it first read.

There has to be - kitchens don't clean themselves. Apparently.

You can come and borrow it from mine.

I don't suppose anyone here has borrowed my copy of 'Steep approach to
    Garbadale'?

It's the only Banks I'm missing and I know I bought it in hardback.

What he said. I don't often read (modern) novels, and that one, as
    usual, remonded me why.

"Iä! Shub-Niggurath" sounds like a Netware 2.2 analysis tool -
probably more up your street than mine.

Closest I came to Netware was as a user at uni and that was 15 years
    ago.

I reckon Abdul al-Hazred wrote the user manual though.

lucky **** - I was installing the crap and trying to get it to work
over non-homogenous self-built hardware about 16-17 years ago, running
    on co-ax ethernet[1]. ****, I what a waste of time and effort.
I'm pretty sure NWFS286 is an encoded password to the dimension of the
    Old Ones.

[1] if I ever have to crimp a co-ax connecter again, I swear someone
    will die.

    Netware is Peerless you ****
The wiring is another issue though innit. By 1997 I'd gone completely CatX
    and Fibre.
Though TBF still used 10Base2 for some 100 meter runs between Switches to
smaller office suites that didn't warrant fibre transducers.
