Woman dies in motorcycle crash near D/FW
    STAR-TELEGRAM STAFF
A 30-year-old woman died Sunday evening in a motorcycle accident near
    Dallas/Fort Worth Airport.

A gust of wind pushed the motorcycle into a guardrail about 7 p.m. on the
exit from northbound Texas 360 to westbound Texas 183, officials said. The
woman, who was riding on the back of the bike, was thrown off the bridge and
    onto an exit ramp below.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the motorcycle was
    not seriously injured, officials said.

The couple's names and hometowns were not yet available, Fort Worth police
Sgt. Vance Keyes said. Speed probably was not a factor in the accident, he
    said.

09:08 PM CDT on Sunday, June 24, 2007

By SCOTT GOLDSTEIN / The Dallas Morning News

A 19-year-old man was killed after he was thrown from his motorcycle early
Sunday morning in west Oak Cliff, police said.

Edgar Lumbreras was driving the motorcycle at a high rate of speed about
12:20 a.m. as he approached a sharp turn in the 4500 block of Lizzy Drive,
said Dallas police Sgt. Jamie Matthews.

He lost control of the motorcycle and landed in the front yard of a
residence, hitting his head at some point, Sgt. Matthews said.

A female passenger was also thrown from the motorcycle, but her injuries
were not life-threatening, Sgt. Matthews said.

Mr. Lumbreras was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he was
later pronounced dead, Sgt. Matthews said.

It was unclear whether Mr. Lumbreras was wearing a helmet.
