Now then.. All the tinkering and worrying around with the carburetor on the
Green One has really got me bumfuddled..

Uncovered that thing today and ran it pretty hard for a while.. It is
sitting on the driveway and that suspect fitting is dry as a bone.. No gas
smell nor any trace of the seeping leak..

It has occurred to me that the fitting may not have been the culprit, after
    all..

I ran that motorcycle all weekend on the trip to Mena and that area.. Each
fillup was accompanied with Sea Foam additive.. During the weekend, I used a
    can of that stuff..

Thinking about carburetors and in my unqualified opinion.. something else
was responsible for that leak..hmmm.. Maybe a float valve or needle valve
was gummed up or something and the bowls were seeping ..

At any rate .. the can of Sea Foam was much cheaper than the replacement
cost of a new carburetor.. and it sure couldn't hurt it to clean the insides
    of that carburetor up..

The fitting is dry and no more gas smell .. While I'm not convinced that the
problem is gone, I'll have to admit that I feel some relief .. just have to
keep an eye on it for a time..

<chuckle> Being a smoker, myself.. I admit that while I was smelling
those gas fumes.. it did occur to me that I could sure make a bad mess.. lol
So far.. so good and I'm hoping that whatever caused that leak is cleaned up
    enough to stop it..

ROTFL.. Another thought.. the Geen Vulcan has sure been good to me, over
    the
years.. A few of the other owners of these motorcycles have commented about
dependability and service as well.. None that I can recall have ever
    mentioned
the motorcycle migh also have some self repair capabilities, though..

<chuckle> I think I'll just have something else to be pleased about this
    little
    Green cruiser.. Regards, Harold

Hey, I actually thought it was for the saddle, I dont know anyone around
here, that's ever heard of it, let alone where to use it. (grin)

LOL.. For sure.. It has been a workhorse.. The Green One won't outrun
    anything..
It's mostly a basic motorcycle without all the advanced technology, but it's
    been
solid .. We've made some pretty impressive runs and with few exceptions..the
old bike has always performed well.. I think that may be what the
    manufacturers
had in mind when they designed the thing.. <chuckle> Regards

It's not the bike, it's the rider.

Speaking of which, I got to chase Wakko around the California mountains
Saturday, and show him how to lane split a bit.

80 + mph down a mountain was fun.
