Furygan?

I seem to get the impression that brands like Alpinestars and Dainese
are frowned upon in this group, and am left a little confused about
what to buy.

I went to J&S today and saw a great pair of Furygan leather jeans for
300 and the jacket for 250. 550 for effectively a two piece seems
reasonable, and they look great. Their website is rubbish, so does
anyone know anything about this brand?

 

I can't say anything about their leathers, but both my Dainese Dry-line
Jacket and Antarctic gloves are brilliant, and I'm also very happy with
my Alpinestars paddock jacket.

Furygan make pretty stylist leathers, and despite knowing little about
their construction/abrasion tests, I'd be tempted to buy at that price.

 

A lot of club racers use them but that could be based on:

1) They are indeed good quality.
2) They look nice
3) They are cheap.

Knowing club racers I suspect 3 but if there are people up and down
the country throwing themselves at tyre walls in them they can't be
all that bad.

IMO a well fitting cheap set of leathers is always better than
expensive "stylish" stuff that's hanging off your back, so if it's a
good fit I'd go for it. My Swift suit is certainly at the cheap end
of the market but it fits nice and has stood up well to several tarmac
"interfaces".

 

Buy what you like,
don't let this lot intimidate you

 

I have an Alpine Stars two piece and its great. I got it for 350 in a
Carnells sale mind you, but even so. If you like it and it fits, go for it.
