Took the advice and went down and checked things out in Warrnambool, didn't
like the camp on the Pertobe Road, nor the FigTree Village, looked at the
one next to Macca's, thought of being inundated with wedding party guests
and gave that a miss, went to the Anchor Belle, (fair), Elm Tree Lodge(?)
fair, settled on a unit near Safeway, City Central Apartments, close to
everything including the bottle shop within walking distance.
Only drawback was the wind, damn is it always that fucking windy down there?
Trip to Port Fairy was good, then on to Portland only to get hassled by the
local law so we progressed on to Mount Gambier.
Might get a place down there around Portland for retirement purposes, only
trouble is that it so far from Melbourne and the petrol prices were fucking
crazy, $1.40 a litre.
I love the smell of fishing, the sea and boats, but I think I will stick to
the big city and for the smell of fishing, I will take an occassional dive
down on my girlfriend.

Yeah, ULP was around the same ($1.80/litre) around Mt Isa (QLD) and through
to the Three Ways (NT).

My parents drove west through Mt Isa and down to Alice a few weeks ago when
the prices Australia wide were sky-high. It was not in Mt Isa itself but
somewhere around the QLD/NT border. They saw one for $1.80 and a second for
$1.72 (where they fueled up).
