My garage has a pair of (metal) up and over doors - they don't open and
close smoothly and getting them to lock is a fiddle. One has a cat flap
but cat is now an ex-cat... I was contemplating replacing them with some
nice new ones but the cost (approx 600 each plus 250 fitting IIRC)
seemed a bit high. What sort of firm would I contact to come and do some
    "maintenance" on the doors?

FFS! Yellow Pages - under "garage door", funnily enough.

I'll pop round and cut your food up for you, shall I?

But it's downstairs and I am upstairs.

    I'd be obliged.
