Had to be done, to accomodate the spiffy new Halfords Professional
tool chest I got for Christmas. What is extraordinary is the stuff I
unearthed that I'd forgotten I had.

Like a set of perfect condition Brembo calipers off a Ducati 750/900SS
(and probably other bikes as well).

A spare ABS pump for a BMW K.

A brand new, still sealed-into-packaging, handlebar switch unit for a
single cam Honda CB750K6 (no longer available, it seems, or at least
cited as such by cmsnl.com and not listed on Dave Silver's site).

A pair of new mudguards for the GN250

A set of four mini indicators

    A cuddly toy

A pair of pillion grab handles for a Triumph Trophy

A brand new oil filter, fitment unknown.

A complete unused electric hammer drill setwith bits and attachments

A socket set (bought, I remember now, for £1 at a boot sale)

A paint spray gun (attachment for the air compressor, and still
    unused)

    A sidestand for I don't know what

A fuel gauge sender unit, brand new, for a Ducati SS.

A front right-hand indicator unit, ditto, for ditto (I bought it on
eBay, having forgotten that it was actually the left-hand one that was
    cracked)

A speedometer drive for a Ducati SS

A brand new inner tube for a Honda 400 Four (x2)

A brand new chain for ditto

    An as-new 14-tooth gearbox sprocket for an RD350 power-valve

    A small electric oven

Two small toboggans (plastic tea-tray type, with handle to hang onto)

Hyperdrive for an Imperial Battle Cruiser (slightly foxed). Or could
be a set of piston rings for a Honda CB125 single.

A plastic toolbox, full of junk.

And so on and so forth. Roll on Kempton Park at the end of January.

Tools are useful and stored where tools go. The other stuff - I look
at it and think, "I wonder if I can use that some day... mebbe put it
in a sculpture somehow... a kinetic machine or sumpin..." So, there is
a pile of crap in my garage such as broken fans, light fixtures,
switches, plumbing bits - all stuff that normal people throw away, but
I seem to think might come in handy some day. Perhaps a Rube Goldberg
    contraption, I dunno.

    Front fairing one?

I'm sure that's the side I broke this summer.

  8. Let me double check tomorrow, just to make certain it is indeed a
right-hand one. Don't want to make the same mistake twice. If so, £15 to
    you, squire, including the postage.

It cost me about £20, IIRC.

    Excellent.

If it is indeed the correct side, I'll take it.

  10. Just checked. It isn't. I have a right-hand one, which was the cracked
one I glued back together. The brand new one is a left-hander.

    Shame.

Seems they all fall on the right hand side.

Odd that because don't they have the suicide side-stands which should
surely cause them to go to the left when then fall?

Depends if the problem is the stand flipping up, or the stand being too
long and leaving the bike liable to topple over the other way.

Is it the Halfords stuff any good? I have some hard earned to send
either Halfords or Machine Marts way tomorrow for a tool roll cab and
    chest. Either Clarkes or Halfords.

Bad form but just noticed if you buy the 5 door professional cabinet
they're throwing in the 7 door professional chest in as part of a bundle
deal (saves 170 quid), which makes it quite a bit cheaper than the
    budget Clarkes range.

I think tomorrow may involve a trip to Halfords.

Everyone modified the suicide stands anyway. I had mine done before I
took delivery of the bike, and then Ducati wisely abandoned them.

Seems good to me. Three small depth drawers, two deep drawers, and a
nice flat surface with a rubber mat on top. No idea what it cost.
