Garage pottering

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by The Older Gentleman, Aug 25, 2008.

  1. Is a good way of spending a showery bank holiday, innit. Put the new
clutch cable on the XT: been meaning to do that for ages.

Took the BMW down the road for its MoT. Sorted out a oad of stuff on the
shelves: found an old squirty oil can I didn't know I had, filled it,
pumped the trigger and it ejaculated all over the XT. Oh well, it needed
    a clean anyway.

Found two rolls of gaffa tape I'd mislaid....

    Just generally... pottered.

  2. I can't even get in my garage at the moment, 2 complete bikes plus one
dismantled is 110% of my garage capacity.

On the plus side I picked up Classic Mechanics today and there's some
good pics of a CB77 inside and an advert for a RD LC2 for 3.5k, which
    cheered me up :)

Showery ? It's overcast but not rained a drop, not 50 miles west of
    you.
Heh, I have CCM sized hole in the garage, so the first of the
    CB250N's is getting fettled.

    2 more to go ..

I'm really curious to know how much the 1st one will fetch with MOT,
etc. The next one may end up being weighed in at the scrappers .. ;)

  4. Good ones are going for silly money. I saw a really very, very clean and
original one make four figures on Ebay, recently.

Dogs only fetch two or three hundred, if that.

    I've seen yours. Say £150.

Yep, I thought that too. I hear the sound of a gauntlet thudding to
    the floor.

I like to think of mine as diamonds in the rough ;-)

Still, I don't actually have one running yet, so we'll see.
