Gatso fine - unlicensed rider!

  1. Fair play - a poster who admits he's in error. An endangered species.

MS90. I said it was a worse conviction than speeding. I don't think
it is anywhere near as bad as drink driving (which ISTR stays on your
license ten years), particularly as it has become alot more common in
recent years. Insurance companies really hate people convicted for
no-insurance as well. Theres no way a MS90 conviction will add more
to a premium than no insurance plus speeding plus no license.

Which of a) and b) is more risky is difficult to say as we don't know
what the probability of a) being successful is or the OPs friend
circumstances. If he has a current conviction that lot could take
him to 12 points and (I think) a six month ban. Would you risk a six
month ban to avoid an MS90?

It's down to the OPs mate to decide whats best for him.

  3. I've just done a web search got web quote from Bennetts. I tried with
an SP30 then again with an MS90. The quotes were identical.

Given the above, it is, but not quite in the way we thought a couple of
hours ago when I rather rashly trusted you own turd brained comment and
    some twat on pistonheads.

    You utter fucktard!

MS90 = failure to disclose, right?

    Failure to disclose what?

Yes, yes, but I mean what *sort* of information.

Does it mean failing to give a breath specimen, failing to give name and
    address details or what?

I haven't told him about the top secret NE88 or about what having the
0 at the end changed to a 2, 4 or 6 means. He knows nothing.

It's out of character for him to buy and ride a bike without insurance
    or a licence?

It was just the one ride then, was it?

There is a disclaimer on the Bennets site somewhere that says they don't
actually use half the information you provide until you actually go to pay.

So you may find this result won't stand up once they actually bother to look
    at the details provided.

  18. Oh come on; who here can put their hand up and say honestly they've
never hopped on a mate's bike and in retrospect might not have been
insured? Or for that matter, harboured a desire to burn down a great
    public building?

I know I have. And all the better for it too, say I.

I rode all over the Nice, Cannes and Monaco area on Jas's ER-5 thinking
I was insured, then found out on renewal that I wasn't. I'd previously
phoned the Bennetts to ask about CIHAGM cover and they'd said yes I had
it. I won't ever use Bennetts again because of this.

Not me. Then again I can't think of a time in the last zillion years I
    haven't been insured.

Does it have to be something you have harboured previously or does it
include current and possible future harbourings as well?
