    Fucker.

TPFT on the 9R cost me more than that.

    that's around here somewhere.

    Fucker.

I console myself with the thought that when I'm an old git like you
(should I survive that long) I shall also have cheap insurance.

Having said that, a moments reflection on my previous history makes me
think it's likely to remain quite high for some time. Justifiably so.

Hmm - found the 2,4,6 shite, but NE88 just seems to be the postcode for the
    child benefits office in Newcastle.

Something you're not telling us Nick?

NE88 does exist as a license conviction. You have to be rather
    special to have one.

    NE88
Non endorsable offence for which you can be disqualified (criminal)

That would probably cover things like a drive-by shooting, I imagine.

    errrr, actually no, it's correct.
checked on t'interweb too, so must be right

    http://www.lawontheweb.co.uk/crimertonip.htm

What form must the notice take?

    It can be :-
    a) given verbally at the time of the offence, or
    b) by a summons being served on the offender within 14 days of
    commission of the offence, or
    c) a notice of intended prosecution, specifying the nature of the
offence and the time and place where it is alleged to have been
committed, must be served on the offender, or the registered keeper of
the vehicle at the time of the offence, within 14 days of the offence.

What's correct? It might help if you quote something of the previous
    posts.
'Served' here is the important term. In current practice, it's taken
as meaning 'sent', not 'received', as you'd know if you'd been here
more than five minutes or googled for previous discussions on this
    topic.

  16. I know <counts on fingers> 4 people who've been banned at for DD. So
unless it's got less harsh[1] then it is a 10 year endorsement. Worth
noting that like the 3 year version for other offences the offender
has to wait another year to have the licence cleaned.

So my brother banned for 2 years at age 20 was 33 before his licence
was actually clean. IIRC getting insurance was a nightmare for the
first few years afterwards - only TP or maybe TPFT was possible.

    [1] how likely is that?

<sticks bottom lip out, shuffles feet>

If it was BGN doing it, would that be a drive-by fruiting?

    <exits stage left, hurriedly>
