Oh do **** off with your high & mighty Daily Mail opinions, will you? I guess you've _never_ driven after even one beer, right? And you'd like the blood/alcohol limit reduced to zero. While we're about it, let's reduce speed limits, 'cos speed kills, and fit speed limiters to enforce it, with a life ban and tens years in prison for anyone that works out how to disable them. And as for those illegal parking types... shall we just execute them on the spot or what? -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. It's worth pointing out that a totting-up ban is not 'automatic'. It's still possible for a court to allow points over the maximum without imposing a ban. And even when they do (which is most of the time, of course) it's more likely to be six months than twelve, IME, and certainly isn't in any way fixed. -- _______ ..'_/_|_\_'. Endorsements remain on a licence for: 11 years from date of conviction for offences relating to drink/drugs and driving, causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink/drugs and causing death by careless driving then failing to provide a specimen for analysis; 4 years from date of conviction for reckless/dangerous driving and offences resulting in disqualification; 4 years from the date of offence in all other cases. So 10 years after return of licence for a DD (assuming minimum 1 year ban) Inscos generally write down the penalty for a DD over 5 years:- Year 1. 100% loading Year 2. 80% Year 3. 60% Year 4. 40% Year 5. 20% But try hiring a car in years 6-11 !
Yes please Sounds very sensible. It'll be in David Cameron's manifesto but I suspect dear old Tony will try to introduce it first. Absolutely. I can see a new contracted service opportunity - parking, execution and body clearance services. A new fully inclusive service provided by National Car Parks. I don't know what you're ranting on about. You live in foreign parts so if we wish to turn into a new Nazi state why should you care?!
Depends when you got your car licence. If it was before 1/1/1990, then you don't need a CBT. Unless they've changed that too now.

I only lusted for about 10. I finally found an Attitude Race on ebay (with a very poor advert - no pictures) and I got it for £440 in immaculate condition. Absolutly brilliant bike, very light and fast with really good quality components where it matters. Only caveat is that it has a fairly aggressive riding position (arse up) which can be tiring. Mine's the "one true colour" as well. -- Nick Brooks GN125 ('till test passed) 1960 SWB Landrover 1974 Mercedes Camper Van Klein Attitude Golf VR6 Combined vehicle age 90
Heh - cool. I'm still running around on my old Scott Windriver. The ex rides a lot in Glentress (hubintheforest website), which has dedicated, graded mountain bike tracks and has bought himself a Kona (I think) fully suspended beast.
I thought in my brothers case it was from the return of his licence after the 2 year ban, however, likely I've remembered incorrectly. As I recall there was no problem with car hire after year 5, but when we tried to hire a truck they wouldn't let him so I had to hire the car licence sized version and increase the number of trips.
So did I, but I hope it's an early/mid-90s one rather than a new one... ....green fade paint-jobs Lovely.
Easter definite. We must do Innerleithen as well cos it's only a couple of miles up the road. I'll get round to sending out an email about it soonish.
Do DD offences still have to be declared after 5 years then? I thought the Rehabilitation of Offenders thang meant they were void after that, unless you'd had to spend more than 3 months in pokey as a result.
As long as you got it before Feb 2001 you're OK to forget about the CBT. http://www.dsa.gov.uk/Category.asp?cat=95
