Yesterday I ordered a replacement gear change assembly for Mr. Bandit
(It's getting an MOT on Friday after it runs out tomorrow) from
Banditspares.com (£25) which arrived today as promised.

I took the old one off (it kept falling off and I thought VOSA would
frown upon my elastic band arrangement, even if they do last about a
month per elastic band) put the new one on and the fucker is bent.

I don't know the name of the part, but it's the bit that you move up
and down with your toes to change gears. It sticks out to the left
too much. I took it out for a ride anyway and although I can change
gear I have to remember to move my foot out to the left more than I
    normally would.

I'll leave it on there until it passes (or fails) the MOT and then
ring up Banditspares.com to have a whinge.

  4. My first thought too. Are people less practical than they used to be, or
    less violent?
