It's time to get my Gixxer dusted off and checked out, it's done 19K miles
and I am looking to change the sprockets and chain. I was thinking about
changing the gearing a little bit by going for a slightly smaller rear
sprocket. Has anyone done this on a Thou?

You want a higher top speed?

Heh, maybe Molly wants to keep the front down? But then I guess
you knew that would also be an affect of the change as well...

Ooops I got it the wrong way around, I want to go for a smaller drive
sprocket or a bigger rear one.

    Not faster, more torque.

I'm a little concerned about tyre life.

I would go up one tooth on the front sprocket and down one on the back,
as I did on my old oiler. Take off the restricter in the low gears and
you will still wheelie, especially after losing weight by removing all
    those unnecessary bits. :)

    http://www.bandcexpress.co.uk is good.

Ah right - so you're saying she's not interested in getting it up
anymore? I guess that makes sense.
I'm not really up on what the change involved - other than a trip to
    Thailand obviously.

    Not more torque... More *thrust*

Mate went to smallest possible front and biggest possible rear on his RSV-R
(old style) and said it was best mod he ever did as the top speed was still
bloody silly-fast, bu the way it got there was just soooooooo much more
    fun.

I have smaller front on the 955, Kate has smaller on R6, both are now more
    tractable

I'll set them up and you nod them home.
I'm sure I've seen pictures on a website somewhere.
http://porn.hu/ is probably a good place to start.

And if I need to mark that as NSFW then, well I don't know.
