Bums of aus.moto..... You've heard me moaning about how uncomfortable the
seat on the SV650 is. The AirHawk has improved things heaps - but I was
wondering what people think of gel seats... Anybody got one? How does it
    compare with, say, the AirHawk?

Can anyone enlighten me re dealers/cost etc etc??? (Canberra region would be
    particularly useful!)

me and my bum thank you in advance

Betty, just find a nice someone to offer to massage ur bum after every
ride... two birds, one stone ;)

*Waits for the lesbian references due to "two birds"*

Perhaps I should take my own advice... *awaits applications for vacancy*

  5. Why does it have to be a lesbian? Wouldn´t a bum rubbing pooftah be more
useful (on account of the experience)?

  6. I am seriously tempted to get one the wee strom. A sore bum after 500ks
is the only thing stopping me from doing 1000k days on it.

  9. I'm a dedicated dead sheep user, so have no personal experience of
alternatives. However, tales from those who have tried other things
would seem to indicate that the air-hawk gives a much more satisfying
    result than the gel seat.

From bicycle riding experience, the gel seat feels good for the first 5
minutes and then rapidly declines to the stage where you wish it wasn't
    there.

Perhaps they'd have the experience but might lack some motivation?

More seriously, do you break the seat in, or does the seat break you in? I
ride a GS 500, ad did Betty before she bought the SV. Initially the seat
was adjectival uncomfortable. Now I seem to tolerate things a little
better. Even a four hour road time trip is a little further than bike part
    spot
    the letterbox.

  13. Yeah I need a big cup of harden the **** up. At the moment my best is
1300ks in 28 hours. Hardly iron butt territory. I'm off for a tour
through the Victorian high country with a mate on the 18th of this month
for 3 days. Can't wait. I'm borrowing his girlfriends SV650. He
reckons we aren't going to see a straight road for 3 days. I can't wait.

Still, not a bad weekend's ride.
You complete and utter bastard ! :) Have fun. Why not take one of your
own bikes though - 3days of windy roads on a 675 would be brilliant.

The seat breaks you in - ask anyone who rides a horse.

  20. I would love to take the 675 but shipping it over and back would be a
pain. Time doesn't really allow me to ride it over (and 3 days on the
Nullabour would kill me I reckon).
