Quite. The boy had his eyes put out obviously.

What sort of people is it actually create employment FFS. Or perhaps we are
ALL meant to work for the fucking civil service. <points at Greece>

When you talk to business people overseas, including the States, about new
ventures (1) the UK just doesn't get mentioned any more.

    (1) TBF I know none in banking or financial services

That's 'cause all the new investment is going into 'BRIC'.

And I'd wager in the near-future it'll consistently go to wherever
they can get people to work for 20% of what it'll cost in their
developed markets... up until the point the fossil fuel based power
and distribution model breaks, then there will be some interesting
rebalances of power and population shifts... probably around the same
time the baby boomers die off.

In some sectors wages are a small enough part of production costs that it
    isn't the deciding factor.
Steel manufacture is a decent example.

Remind me which party *all* of the MPs being prosecuted for extreme
expenses theft belong to? Oh yeah, I've just remembered - Labour.

    All? - 2 Labour 1 thieving toraidhe.

Of the one's that got away with it, most were thieving toraidhe and for the
most extravagent fraud - duck houses, moats and bell towers.

Check again. Three MPs, all Labour. One Lord, a Tory, who probably
wouldn't even be there if Labour had done what they promised in 1997.
Yeah right, cos it makes sense that only the least extravagent
fraudsters are being prosecuted doesn't it.
