Getting tarnish off exhausts

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Whinging Courier, Jun 3, 2007.

  1. Apart from buying a fabric flap-wheel, is there an easier way than using
    Autoglym's metal polish?

Also, should there be stone chips in the exhaust? I'd have thought not.

If the finish is suitable, try using it with wire wool.

Sure, just coat it with used engine oil, or failing that spray
    regularly with WD40.

I use some stuff called Peek on my shiny metal things to keep them
looking nice. I'll have to use some on my scooter exhaust when it's back
    in one lump again.
