    Hi all

Anyone here fitted a Givi A750 or A760?

If so, are they any good?

I know a lot of these screens can be more trouble then they are worth with
buffeting, just thought these ones looked nice and may help the wind blast
    at 70ish.

    TIA, David

What is the point in buying a naked bike and then adding a fairing ?

What's the issue with wind blast at 70... wuss!
    :)

It's quite a reasonable thing to do if you want an SV650. The riding
position of the SV650S doesn't suit everyone, the naked model was
much more comfortable for me, but the wind blast was tiresome, so I
got the S model. Now, I could spend a couple of hundred dollars on
bar risers and some more on a peg relocation kit, but a much better
solution is to get the naked and add a screen, since it's far cheaper
and it's essentially the same outcome. The money you save by getting
the naked vs. the S will more than pay for a decent Givi windscreen.
70 is just about the limit. Ride 600 miles on a naked standard across
Minnesota and South Dakota at 75+ mph and then get back to me.

Five years and 30K miles on a Kawasaki Drifter without a screen, much of
that done on motorways at 75-95 mph. No big deal.

    You're a man's man, and no mistake.

PS you didn't mention how much of that time was spent inverted.

    Eww! Get orff!
Only the low-speed stuff, and too quickly for anyone to photograph.

That's booze, junk food, old age and being a fat bastard does that. The
wind blast was much alleviated by my Arai Quantum full-face motorcycle
    helmet with the visor closed.

    Pah !

Check the bikes in the sig, the XJR has done 42k, unfaired. Many trips to
the continent, last year was a 3000 mile + trip.

The same bike is off to the states for 3 months.

I get heartilly sick of all the "you can't do x MPH on an unfaired bike
    bollocks.

If you don't like it, don't get one.

Obviously enough, bikes didn't have the option of a fairing when a
large number of us started out on bikes and I never saw it as a
problem. We also had to use shit riding kit that leaked and didn't
keep us warm for more than 10 minutes but that doesn't mean I have to
carry on in the same vein.

True, but ifn you want a faired bike you get one, and if you want an
unfaired none you get one of those. Not sure what your point is.

You could have started on one of these:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Velocette_LE_(police).jpg
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Velocette - "Over 1958/59 fairings appear
    for all models."

We used to have B+W tv years ago too, but life with a colour tv is so
    much more enjoyable.

I sort of understood that, but it does not relate to why buy an unfaired
bike and then add a fairing.

Well I got one in the end anyway. bit buffety around town but things smooth
out as the speed increases... looks nice though.

Oh yeah, the reason I bought a naked bike instead of a faired bike was
because I wanted an ER-5 as it suits my iffy back and it was only 2.5K brand
    new.

Not many faired and comfy 500's in that price range.
